Marietta, Ohio- The Jr. Fair Livestock Sale starts at 4:00p.m. today. The sale will take place at the Show Arena on the Washington County Fairgrounds.

The Sale order is as follows: goats, chickens, lambs, turkey, dairy feeder steers, rabbits and market steers.

Kesselyn Bigley of Whipple, Ohio was named Market Steer Grand Champion on September 5th. She explained what it felt like to receive recognition for something she worked tirelessly to achieve.

"It was an emotional rollercoaster," she said. "I did not expect to do as well as I did. I cried a little bit. It felt great because it was my long-term goal."

Kesselyn Bigley was named Market Steer Reserve Champion in 2019. The fair has been a different experience for Kesselyn for many reasons. As previously reported, there are no rides or events that are not Jr. Fair related.

Kesslyn spoke about the significance of the sale and the adjustments that have been made due to COVID-19.

"Our work all comes together and we are rewarded more so for what we have," she continued. "The sale is a little bit different this year. It can be found on the Facebook page for the Washington County Fair and there is no buyers reception as in previous years due to COVID-19.

Washington County Fair Board President Kurt Bohlen added more deatils about the restrictions in place.

"We are limited to 2 representatives or individuals that are buying the cattle, as well as the parents of the children selling the livestock," he said. "As far as seating goes, groups of two chairs are set up throughout the barn in a distanced off pattern."

The venue is set up and has been disinfected in preparation for the event.

The Washington County Fair asked the public on their Facebook page to, "Please come and support the youth of our community, they depend on you."
