Marietta Resident Accused of Stealing Water from City

A Marietta Resident is facing charges after stealing water from the City of Marietta.  Water Service had been shut off to a Del Ray Court residence recently.  Reports from the Sheriff's Office say the water was shut off in late June due to an outstanding balance of $485.63.
 
 
The water meter access port was entered and a wire to the meter was cut, the valve was later turned, unlawfully turning the water back on to the residence.  Between the time it was turned back on and July 15th, this past Wednesday, 58.13 cubic feet of water was stolen.  The cost is around fourteen dollars however the cost to replace the meter is around $190.  Warrants were requested for a Joshua Dean Sprague and an Angela Johnson through Marietta Municipal Court on charges of theft.
