Pulled Pork & Chicken Fundraiser Dinner
On February 21st, there will be a Pulled Pork and Chicken Fundraiser Dinner at the Washington County Fairgrounds. WMOA spoke with Emily Griffin, the Washington County Fairboard Treasurer, about the event details. Griffin shares the menu for attendees. In addition to the adult menu, children can order hot dogs, chips, a dessert, and either pulled pork or a small piece of chicken. "We are having, um, our chicken, which is cooked over an open fire. Uh, the guys on the fair board actually cook that. And um, we also have pulled pork that the Fair board made as well. And we are doing, um, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, green beans, and a roll." In addition to a filling dinner, there will be a variety of activities. One of the larger activities is a gun-and-cash raffle. 500 tickets are priced at $20, and there are still tickets available. This year, the annual event is even more special as we celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Washington County Fair. The public is invited to attend and help support the fundraiser. Dinner will begin at 5:30 P.M. Tickets for adults cost $15.00, and tickets for kids cost $5.00. To schedule a To-Go order, Griffin asks that it be reserved in advance. To-Go orders can be placed by dialing (740) 213-2091.
