The Marietta Community Foundation has opened applications for its 2026 scholarships. These are created by individuals, families, and organizations in the area. Vice President and Donor and Program Services Director, Britani Merritt, spoke with us about the scholarships.

"Scholarships are designed to support students at different stages of life, not just traditional graduating seniors and our goal is simple. Connect generosity with opportunity and help students take their next"

MCF has over 65 scholarships available for those in Washington County and Neighboring communities. Three new scholarships are being offered to students. Meritt listed these and which students are eligible for them.

"We do have a few new scholarships available for the 2026 cycle, including the James R Thrash Family Scholarship for Marietta High School Seniors. We have the Make the Right Move Scholarship for Fort Frye High School seniors and the Evans Family Scholarship, which is open to all Washington County residents."

You can download the application for each scholarship or learn what is needed for the scholarships by visiting the Marietta Community Foundation's website. MCF encourages all students to apply without hesitation.

"Many scholarships look beyond grades and consider, you know, perseverance, community involvement, career goals, life experiences, even the application itself can be a valuable learning experience."

The application deadline is March 16th at 4 PM. Once received, applications move through a careful review process, with recipients notified ahead of Marietta Community Foundation's Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026. Meritt explained how that review process looks.

" We keep our process rooted in fairness and transparency. Personal information from the applications is removed before review. That way, it allows students to be evaluated solely on their achievements, aspirations, career goals, and potential."

For Marietta High School students alone, there are 21 available scholarships to apply to.
