The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley is hosting the charity  Pickin' Party event with live entertainment, including the Muskie Bucket string band and special guests Westyn Bennington and Moon Mullen. We spoke with Mr. Mullen about the upcoming event.

 "It's exciting to play music and have a good time and be able to help support the main society of the Ohio Valley. They always have a large census of dogs and cats there looking for new homes. This is an event that, that we've been doing far at least 10 years and try to raise a little money to get some Purina dog chow or Purina cat Chow."

Guests can donate a suggested admission fee of $10/person or a large bag of Purina dog or cat food. Tickets will be on sale at the door, and all proceeds go to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.

 "We just saw how much need that they always have, looking for additional volunteers to help them walk dogs, and contributions to help them pay for the upkeep of the shelter. And this time of the year, I'm sure the, the gas bill at the shelter is pretty high too."

 The event has been going on for over a decade to benefit animals in need and provide entertainment for anyone who wants to attend. Mullen explained the time and location.

 "It's February 27th, 7:30 PM, at the Lafayette Hotel, in The Gun Room. Lafayette has been great hosts for us, uh, over the years and we're happy to be doing it again there this year."
