Man located, arrested following Marietta road rage incident

MARIETTA, Ohio (November 9, 2016) - Officers with the Marietta Police Department have located and arrested a man allegedly involved in a violent road rage incident that unfolded on Gilman Avenue early this morning. Police say they used a combination of locally provided information and state resources to locate Thomas Treadway, age 26, at around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday near 2000 4th Street in the vicinity of the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Marietta.
Treadway was allegedly tailgating a vehicle driven by an unidentified 75-year-old man while traveling into Marietta on Ohio State Route 676 at around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday. When both vehicles turned onto Gilman Avenue, Treadway allegedly became enraged and struck the other vehicle multiple times with his Chevy 4-wheel-drive Extended Cab before exiting his vehicle and physically assaulting the elderly man. According to police, the victim was transported to Marietta Memorial Health System with minor injuries. He is believed to have since been released.
Marietta police say the suspect's vehicle had sustained recent visible damage to the driver side and rear bumper. Officers say Treadway admitted to the incident when questioned. He was placed under arrest and is facing multiple felony assault charges, pending further investigation. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday morning.
