Missing Athens County Girl Found Safely

Chauncey, OH (WMOA) - An Athens County girl reported missing Thursday afternoon was found safely a few hours later.
 
The Athens County Sheriff's Office says nine-year-old Haley Bedsole went missing from her home in Chauncey just after noon Thursday.
 
Authorities say that after a search of about five hours, Haley was found safe by a local resident as she tried to hide behind a tree.
 
The girl had apparently become upset when her cell phone was taken away and decided to run away.
 
After she was found, the girl was evaluated by medical personnel and returned to her mother's care.
 
The sheriff's office says they want to thank everyone who aided in the search to find the girl.
