Tickets for the BrAva Mom Prom will be on sale in the coming weeks. The event, which is entering its 9th year, has become a staple here in the Mid-Ohio Valley each and every year. We spoke with BrAva Vice President Erin Roberts about the event.
"It's definitely become one of the signature events for women in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and I think what makes it so incredible every year is that we are getting together for a great cause, and there's a real meaning behind it. It's a very authentic event. Not only is it like a great night out for ladies, but it's also very authentic in that we are treating women in this area who have had a child either, you know, suffer from cancer or even pass away from cancer."
Tickets for the charitable event go on sale March 3rd for 50 dollars. Guests may purchase raffle tickets and luminaries beginning March 10. Roberts explained where the funds raised at the prom go to afterward.
"We are looking forward to raising more funds for the cause, which are local childhood cancer families that need help, and also we donate to CureSearch, which is a national organization that's focusing on finding better treatment and a cure for different childhood cancers."
The event will occur Friday, April 19, at the Washington County Multipurpose Building in Marietta, Ohio. It will feature a DJ, a coronation honoring mothers whose children have battled childhood cancer, a raffle, and food and drink from local vendors. Roberts credits the community as the event would not be possible without the support they get.
"The community here and our business owners, both large and small, have just been phenomenal in their repeating support to our organization and the cause. We did get that 15,000 donation this year from the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Beverly 3665, and they have just really chosen to put some of their funding behind this cause because they truly believe in the cause that we are working to support and the women that are on the committee that are giving their time and their heart to put this together. So we, we really appreciate that. They are the gold sponsor for 2024 Mom Prom."
Tickets can be purchased by going to Eventbrite and searching for the event after March 3rd or by visiting BrAva Mom Prom dot com and clicking the tickets link. Since 2011, BrAva has given back more than 550,000 to local families.
