Van Crash Gets Man Arrested for OVI

(MARIETTA, OH) - A Marietta man who tested with a high BAC on Tuesday after he crashed his van downtown is facing multiple charges from the incident.
 
Marietta Police Captain Jeff Waite says 36-year-old Jeremy Michael Phipps crashed his van into a pole at the Second Street Speedway station, and admitted to drinking at least a six pack of beer when officers questioned him.
 
Officers learned Phipps was on parole and was driving under a suspended license.  At the jail, he tested .281 BAC.
Phipps was charged with OVI and driving under a suspended license.
