(LOWELL, OH) An Adams Township man is in jail, charged with receiving stolen property.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says 59-year-old Robert Reed of Little Bear Creek Road was charged in the case in which a 1975 Chevy Silverado that was stolen from a dealership in London, Ohio back in 2002 was found on his property.

The sheriff's office says detectives identified the truck as stolen by matching two of the hidden vehicle identification numbers to the number in a national stolen vehicle database.

The sheriff's office says Reed denied knowing the truck was stolen, but reportedly told a family member he knew it was and he had a friend in the BMV that helped him get a title for it.

Reed is being held in the Washington County Jail without bond, pending an initial court appearance.
