Thief Found with Marijuana Seeds, Containers of Pastries

Beverly, Ohio- A pastry thief was arrested after being offered a ride by a deputy of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
 
 
The reports states that a deputy was on patrol in the area of State Route 339 when the deputy observed a male, identified as Darren Mallett, walking along the roadway. Mallet advised the deputy that he was walking from Beverly, Ohio to Ripley, West Virginia. 
 
 
Mallet accepted the offer of a ride from the deputy. Before leaving, Mallet consented to a search prior to entering the vehicle. 
 
 
The Sheriff's Office reports that 'numerous' containers of pastries were found in Mallet's backpack. The deputy asked Mallett if he was responsible for the theft of pastries from a food truck in Beverly, Ohio.
 
 
Mallett admitted to being the person that committed the offense at Lisa's Sweet Stop.
 

The deputy recovered 33 marijuana seeds and a glass pipe from Mallett. 
 
 
Darren Michael Mallett, age 21, Zanesville, OH, was placed under arrest for theft, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs.
 
 
The subject was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
