Marietta College has hired a new Chief of Police and he’ll take up his duties on August 30.

Tom Saccenti was named as the new head of college security on Friday afternoon. He replaces Dave Valkinburg, who resigned in May.

Saccenti has been the Director of Campus Safety at Trine University in Angola, Indiana. He has also worked as the Chief of Police for the Pioneer Police Department and as a detective for the Castalia Police Department.
