
The Ohio Department of Development has awarded grants to 11 communities to improve distressed areas through the Neighborhood Revitalization Grant Program.
Meigs County will receive a $300,000 grant to complete public improvements in the Village of Racine. The improvements will include the installation of sidewalks, streets, catch basins, culverts, fencing, the purchase of firefighting equipment and water meters, the demolition of six abandoned houses, the construction of a batting cage at Star Mall Park, and the replacement of a roof, windows and doors at the community building.
Morgan County will receive a $260,000 grant to complete public improvements in the Village of Malta. The improvements will include installing park equipment, sidewalks, catch basins, sanitary sewer lines, and the paving of streets.
Noble County will receive a $300,000 grant to complete public improvements in the Village of Caldwell. The improvements will include installing streets, sanitary sewer taps, curbs, sidewalks, playground equipment, and construction of a park shower building and shelter house.
