Marietta College was named to the 2009 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which is recognition from the highest levels of the federal government for commitment to service and civic engagement on campus and around the nation.

The Honor Roll, which began in 2006, recognizes colleges and universities nationwide that support innovative and effective community service and service-learning programs. Marietta has been recognized four consecutive years.

Over the past three academic years Marietta students have combined to provide nearly 60,000 hours of community service in the region. The 2008-09 academic was the highest total ever at 32,500 hours.
