A Belpre man is in jail after the sheriff’s office received information that he was threatening to kill a parole officer.
55 year old Warren Garner was upset that the parole officer was possibly going to send his daughter to prison. Officials say he planned to take revenge by shooting the parole officer and members of his family.
A confidential informant provided detectives with a recorded conversation during which Garner stated that he had learned the parole officer’s address and planned to scope out the area for a good shooting location.
When interviewed, Garner denied making any sort of threat and said he was only interested in seeing what kind of person the parole officer was. Garner was arrested for a first degree felony charge of conspiracy to commit murder and transported to the Washington County Jail.
