Eramet Marietta Plans Furnace Upgrade
Posted on: 03/27/2008
By  Callie Lyons
Eramet Marietta is planning a substantial upgrade. Earlier this month the company notified the Ohio EPA of its intentions to reline furnace #1 with work beginning in April.

The project would result in a 10 percent decrease in emissions. The furnace is expected to undergo an outage for four to six weeks while it is relined.

A second phase still in the works would replace a baghouse dust collector on that same furnace to catch particulate dust, further reducing emissions by 50 percent. However, the collector is still in the design phase.

The document, submitted to OEPA on March 3, was signed by Eramet CEO Frank Bjorklund.
