A report from Ohio Means Jobs Dot Com says there were 8,369 job postings in southeastern Ohio from May 14 to June 13 this year—up 133 from the previous reporting period, and 1211 from this time period last year.
Roughly 35 percent of those ads were for entry level jobs. Almost five percent of job postings were six-figure careers.
Sears Holdings posted the most job ads for the period with Genesis Healthcare and Ohio University rounding out the top three. The Memorial Health System ranked seventh on that list.
The occupation with the most postings for the period was far-and-away truck driving with 988 ads. Registered nursing was second with 291 ads.
Nearly 68 percent of all postings required just a high school diploma or GED as opposed to nearly 13 percent for folks with bachelor’s degrees.
