Man Arrested In Drug Sting Faces Menacing Charges

(MARIETTA, OH) - He was arrested in a June drug bust that sent 6 other people to jail, and now a Macksburg man is in another bout of trouble with the Washington County Sheriff’s office.

Hill Franklin Smith, 58, who was arrested in a June 13 drug sting now faces charges of aggravated menacing after authorities say he pulled a knife on a 25-year-old woman after she allegedly refused to  get naked at his demand.

Smith allegedly cornered the woman in her bedroom, pulled the knife after she refused to remove her clothes, and then tried to forcibly remove her clothes after showing the knife a second time.

Investigators say other people in the home heard the commotion and intervened before the incident got worse.

The victim told deputies she feared Smith would sexually assault her.

Smith currently faces heroin trafficking charges stemming from his arrest in June.  Police say he had been dealing heroin for some time prior to that arrest.
