(MARIETTA, OH) -He’s accused of harassing neighbors over the phone and also hitting another man in the face with a hammer, and now a Devola man is headed to jail.
The Washington County Sheriff’s office says 36-year-old Lewis E. Muro of Lot 7 along Masonic Park Road is facing charges of assault, telephone harassment, and criminal trespassing.
They say alcohol played a major part in Muro’s behavior, which led to his arrest.
According to a deputy’s report, Muro repeatedly phoned a neighbor despite being asked to stop, and then harassed other neighbors by pounding on the outside of their trailers and challenging them to fights.
One of Muro’s neighbors—34-year-old Joshua Sprague—attempted to speak to him, but Muro hit Sprague in the face with a handle from a hammer.
Police say they took Muro to jail, where his blood alcohol content tested at .216.
