“It starts at 9:30 at Leith Run
Recreation Area, north of Marietta on the Ohio River Scenic Byway. The day’s
activities include Passport to Fishing – always very popular with the kids,
archery, water safety, mountain bike skills – you’re encouraged to bring your
own helment and bike – rock wall climbing, thanks to the Ohio National Guard
who are bringing the wall, police K-9 demonstrations, and a lot other things.
“At the river shelter at Leith Run,
you and the kids can learn all about local land and water critters. You can
touch live reptiles, too, if you want to. Lunch will provided to everyone who
takes part. From 2:00 until 4:00, Kinderhook Horse Trails will provide
The activities take place on Fathers Day Weekend.
“Oh, yeah, the kids are gonna be
asking Dad, ‘can we go to Leith Run?’ That would be a
nice outing and it’ll encourage Dad to get outdoors. And bring Mom, too.”
