Authorities aren’t kidding when they say, “Don’t Drink and Drive,” and they’ll be making sure everyone is safe on the road on Friday.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marietta Post says it will hold an OVI checkpoint in Morgan County on Friday evening, in order to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The exact location of the checkpoint within Morgan County will be announced tomorrow.
The patrol says it investigated 29 crashes and one death involving OVI in Morgan County last year, and it makes an average of 25,000 impaired driving arrests statewide each year.
The Marietta post serves Washington and Morgan counties.
