Sick Squirrel Leads To Area Man's Arrest
Posted on: 04/30/2014
By  Justin Bradley

(MARIETTA, OH) A sick squirrel sets off a chain of events that eventually lead to a Marietta manís arrest.

Dwight Keith Masters Jr., age 45 of 626 Eighth Street, has been arrested on a drop-file of charges after he threw a solar light and a beer bottle at people in the alley along the 600 block of Ninth Street who were checking on a sick squirrel.

Marietta Police Captain Jeff Waite says Masters is being charged with menacing, obstructing official business, criminal damaging, and resisting arrest.

He says Masters was allegedly angered by the activities surrounding the care of the squirrel, and reached the point of resorting to throwing objects at people to get them to leave the area.

Waite also says Masters was not cooperative with police during his arrest, and is now in the Washington County Jail facing the aforementioned charges.
