Posted on: 04/21/2014
By  Justin Bradley

(MARIETTA, OH) - May 1 marks the National Day of Prayer in the United States, and the Washington County Commissioners have passed a resolution to allow for observance of the day on the Court House stairs at the request of a local church leader.

Pastor Rodney Lord of the Freedom Gate Church has been granted access to the Court House stairs from 11:30 AM to 1:15 in the afternoon that day, and the commissioners are slated to take part in the event as well.

Lord says anyone wishing to participate may join in.

In addition to the Court House stairs being used, the section of Putnam Street in front of the Court House will be blocked off from noon until 1 PM.

Again, National Day of Prayer is slated for May 1.
