(MARIETTA, OH) - Captain Jeff Waite of the Marietta Police Department says they’ve arrested a woman who claims she was just trying to give her daughter a nice Easter.
Police have taken 21-year-old Brittini Messick of Williamstown into custody for theft after she allegedly stole clothing, air fresheners, an FM transmitter, and automotive accessories from the Marietta Wal-Mart.
Waite says the items’ combined value is roughly $227.
He says Messick told an officer that she had no money, and had taken the items so that her daughter would have something for Easter.
Messick is currently in the Washington County Jail.
