(MARIETTA, OH) - Smithsonian magazine's third annual Best Small Towns To
Visit List was released today, helping you plan your next weekend
getaway to one of America's best kept secrets! The list
highlights towns with populations of less than 15,000 that have
exceptional strengths in history, music, visual arts, learning, food, theater
and science. Coming in at number 6 is Marietta.
Many small American towns have died, and some have been reborn,
but neither of those stories describes this place. Harley Noland, a city
councilman-at-large, says "Marietta has always been a stable place."
