Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks this afternoon announced the arrest of a Parkersburg man for possessing and selling a large amount of “K2” or synthetic marijuana.
Mincks says an extensive operation involving the Wood County ACE unit and the Washington County Major Crimes Task Force resulted in the arrest of Robert “Rob” Oakley III, age 34, of 4114 14th Avenue in South Parkersburg, and the seizure of approximately eleven pounds of synthetic marijuana.
Oakley allegedly sold about one pound of K2 to undercover agents of the Task Force in the Marietta area. He was later stopped on State Route 7 near Veto Road in Warren Township.
Information obtained at the scene and other facts led to the execution of a search warrant by the Wood County ACE unit at Oakley's residence, where about ten more pounds of K2 were seized.
Mincks says Oakley admitted to selling K2 and indicated he had made $40,000 in the last six months.  A 2013 Chevy Camaro and a 2004 Dodge Ram Truck were seized by law enforcement agents.
The two-county investigation is continuing and the sheriff says more arrests are possible.
