Simultaneous Voter Registration Drive, Art Show & Sale Happens on Saturday

It’s a unique combination of events, coming to downtown Marietta this Saturday. One of the organizers, Betsy Cook, explains…
“The Marietta-Washington County League of Women Voters is working to register voters for the next few months to get ready for (the next) election, so we’re taking advantage of an event at Riverside Artists Gallery at 219 Second Street from 11 till 3 o’clock, and we’ll be registering people to vote, or if you need to change your address you can do that, or maybe you want an absentee ballot. We’ll also have applications there for people who want to be poll workers.”
Cook describes other things happening at the venue on Saturday…
“While the League is there the Gallery is going to be offering free soup and cornbread. It’s kind of a local tradition on election day so we thought that would be fun. We’re calling it a ‘souper’ sale. Some artists will have art on sale, and we’ll also have some art demonstrations.”
The artists’ event will run from 10 AM until 5 PM.
