Downtown Parking Marking to Change
Posted on: 01/16/2014
By  Mike Cullums
The office of Marietta mayor Joe Matthews say "due to the misunderstandings and enforcement of passed legislation pertaining to downtown parking lot maintenance" the administration is suspending enforcement of violations in the Armory Parking Lot. The suspension will be lifted as soon as weather allows city work crews to stripe and number 28 parking spaces for renting.
City Hall says merchants and visitors need to be cognizant that currently posted signage indicates that white-striped parking is two hours, and yellow-striped parking are monthly parking spots. This appplies to all city-owned lots.
Due to the unavailability of rental spots at the Armory Parking Lot, the Administration will not enforce two hour parking violators for the time being. The police department will continue to enforce current parking times at Parking Partners, the Second & Butler lot and the East Muskingum lot, as well as on-street parking downtown.
Contact City Hall at 373-1387 for more information.
