Community Action Offering Free Tax Filings; Income Restrictions Loosened
Posted on: 01/15/2014
By  Mike Cullums
Washington-Morgan Community Action in Marietta will conduct a free tax clinic on Saturday, February 8, from 9 AM until 2 PM.

Thanks to the Ohio Benefit Bank, Community Action can file federal and state taxes free of charge. Income limits for free tax assistance have increased to $95,000 for those using “married filing jointly” status and $65,000 for all other tax filers.

An appointment must be made in advance for those wishing to attend the clinic. To make an appointment, or for more information, call Diane Jett at Community Action at (740) 373-3745.

The Ohio Benefit Bank is a counselor-assisted Internet tool that helps lower-income Ohioans apply for a range of work supports as well as to file tax returns.
