Cancer Survivors Picnic Well Attended

The Memorial Health System's Strecker Cancer Centers held their annual patient recognition picnic in Williamstown on Saturday. In a follow-up report, WMOA News spoke with Cortney Beymer, the event organizer and a licensed social worker at the Belpre center...
“We had 102 patients sign in, and most of the patients brought family members or friends, so it was a great turnout.

“We appreciate all the people and businesses that donated raffle prizes – Baker & Baker Jewelers, Gold Line Jewelers, WMOA, Weiser & Cawley Furniture – and a lot of our nurses and staff were kind enough to donate prizes, also.”
Beymer says area residents who would like to help cancer patients and their loved ones through the course of the year can make a real difference by donating to a special fund…
“We have the ‘Strecker Patient Indigent Fund’ that we use to help people who are unable to afford their medications, or who can’t work during their treatment and fall behind on their bills – just anything that can help their treatment and their care go better. People can contribute to the indigent fund anytime to help make things easier on our patients.”
For information, contact Cortney Beymer at (740) 401-0257.
