'Moonlight and Chocolate Walk' Happens Downtown on Friday, October 4th

Coming up the weekend after next, you can stroll through the streets of downtown Marietta and enjoy some sweet treats along the way. The event is hosted by Marietta Main Street. WMOA News spoke with the event sponsor, Marietta Main Street director Jean Farmer.

“The Moonlight and Chocolate Walk is Friday, October 4.  It’s going to be from 6 to 9 pm, and there are 27 participating merchants this year.  A single ticket is fifteen dollars, couples are twenty-five.”

Unlike the popular Merchants and Artists Walks, you'll need a ticket for this walk.  Farmer explains what the evening consists of.

“What you do is come at 5:30 to the Lafayette Hotel for the registration and kickoff.  There, you will get a brochure that shows you which participating merchants there are.  They have a little special chocolate treat for us there at the Lafayette Hotel as well.  Then you visit as many, or all, of the merchants as you can from 6 to 9.  Come back to the Lafayette at 9:00 and we will have prize drawings at that time.”

We asked Farmer about the prizes.

" The grand prize is a hand-crafted necklace with chocolate gemstones, designed by Tony Baldwin from Jewelry by Design.  And, there will be additional prizes from local merchants.  You get one chance to win with your ticket, and then there are additional raffle tickets you can buy for more chances to win.”

Those extra raffle tickets are a dollar each or six for five dollars.  For more information or to reserve a ticket for the Moonlight and Chocolate Walk, call Marietta Main Street at (740) 885-8194.
