Man Killed in Marietta Township Crash
Posted on: 09/16/2013

A Marietta Township man is dead after a three-vehicle crash this morning on State Route 26.
The Ohio Highway Patrol says 55-year-old Robert Goddard of Kelsey Lane was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, about a mile north of the intersection of Route 26 and Goose Run Road.
Goddard was driving a 1994 Suzuki Sidekick south on 26 when he was struck by a 2004 Ford Explorer, driven by Zachary Dumas of Woodcrest Lane – after Dumas had crossed the center line.  Goddard’s vehicle was then hit by 2006 GMC Envoy, driven by 47-year-old Donald Duvall of State Route 26 in Lawrence Township.
Dumas and Duvall were both taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Reno Emergency Squad where they were treated and released.
All three men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, just after 7:30 Monday morning.  The roadway was closed for about four hours as the scene was cleared.
The crash remains under investigation.
