Police in Illinois have arrested a man that is believed to be involved in the attempted robbery of a Peoples Bank administrative office in Marietta and the robbery of a Chase Bank branch in Athens.
Marietta Police Captain Jeff Waite says he was told by authorities in Urbana, Illinois that they have arrested 49-year-old Ronald Corbin of Lafayette, Illinois.  Hes been linked to other robberies in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.  Corbin and another man, 58-year-old Dennis Gallivan, also of Lafayette, Illinois, were arrested after an armed robbery at an Urbana Bank.
The two incidents in southeast Ohio took place on the afternoon of August 26.  Corbin allegedly first attempted to rob the administrative offices of Peoples Bank on Scammel Street.  After fleeing the scene, about 2 hours later he was seen on surveillance video robbing a branch of Chase Bank on East State Street in Athens.
Waite says Marietta Police are working with the FBI and several other law enforcement agencies in the continuing investigation.
