Washington State AmeriCorps Group Gathering donations for Troops

This week, the AmeriCorp Ohio College Guides and VISTA members at Washington State are holding a product drive to send goods to soldiers overseas.
The drive continues through tomorrow.
Heather Saling, who works with the group at Washington State, says they’re taking all kinds of items for soldiers.
“They really are going to range anywhere from toiletries, like lotions and body wash, to toothbrushes and things like that.  We’re going to be taking canned goods and other non-perishable food items.  We already have some donations of books on tape, CD’s, crossword puzzles and miscellaneous items.”
If you would like to make a donation, Saling says there are multiple locations on the Washington State campus that you can drop those off.

“We have donation barrels located all around campus, in different wings.  There’s also going to be a donation barrel at the Morgan Learning Center, because we have one of our college guides that’s also located out there.”
Saling says this is the first of five service projects the group takes on each year.  She says last year’s drive was very successful, and they hope to have another successful drive this year.
For more information about the drive, you can contact Heather Saling by calling the Washington State main phone number at (740) 374-8716.
