There were some anxious moments on Saturday evening after a
56-year-old man became disoriented and separated from his family. The man –
with no previous history of medical issues – was on his cell phone but was
unable to tell relatives or police where he was, giving confused answers to
Officers and relatives searched the huge crowd for more than
an hour until the man was found at the corner of Third and Butler streets. A
rescue squad took him to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Other than that incident and the usual festival traffic and parking issues, police report no serious problems.
Officers cited two 24-year-old
Marietta men for criminal trespassing after they climbed the fire escape to the
roof of the Lafayette Hotel. They had the best seats at the Festival - briefly.
