After nearly a decade worth of working toward it, ReStore
Marietta will celebrate being named to Ohio Main Street status this weekend.
It's a joint celebration along with the 30th annual Harmar Days
ReStore Marietta Director Jean Farmer says the Main Street approach works.
"It's design, promotion, business enhancement and organization," Farmer explains. "We have four committees that do that. Working on all four of those points at the same time is what we do to keep moving in our organization."
She says proud of the group, because it's a board-driven, volunteer organization.
"This group of hard working citizens of Marietta are the ones that started this and keep this going," Farmer says. "We were given the designation in July, and we're getting ready to tell the world. We're going to have a new name and a new logo."
The announcement and new logo will begin at 10:30 AM at
Gateway Park on the corner of Front and Butler Street by the old rail road
bridge. For more information contact Jean Farmer at ReStore Marietta at
