Two Killed in Route 7 Milk Truck Crash
Posted on: 07/05/2013
By  Mike Cullums
Two people died in a single vehicle accident yesterday morning on State Route 7 near milepost 17 at Moore’s Junction in Warren Township.
The State Highway Patrol says a milk tanker driven by 40-year-old Dwight Knapp of Marietta went out of control while traveling northbound. It went into the median, then back across the roadway, striking the guardrail several times before crashing through the end of a guardrail and into a deep, wooded ravine, striking several trees.
Knapp and his passenger, 20-year-old Chyennea Jo Uppole of Vincent, were pronounced dead at the scene.
It took wrecker crews and Warren Township firefighters several hours to get the truck up to the highway. It belonged to William Ford Trucking, and Knapp was delivering a load of milk to Broughton’s Dairy.
The Patrol says neither victim was wearing a seatbelt. The cause of yesterday’s crash remains under investigation.
