Marietta Post Office may be renamed

Congressman Bill Johnson has introduced a bill to rename the Marietta Post Office after Lance Corporal Josh Taylor.
Taylor was one of seven Marines killed during a training exercise in March at the Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada.
“It’s a befitting tribute to one of our nation’s heroes, and one of Marietta’s own," Johnson says.  "We’ll never be able to repay Josh for the sacrifice that he made for our nation.  This is a symbolic way that we can honor that sacrifice and I’m very honored to be able to do this.”
Many postal facilities across the country have been renamed through these acts.
“Most of us here in the House of Representatives, regardless of which side of the aisle you serve on, are thankful to our men and women in uniform," Johnson explains.  "We take every opportunity we can to honor the sacrifices they made.  We know that freedom’s not free.  We know that it comes at a very high price.  It’s young men like Lance Corporal Josh Taylor that’s willing to pay that sacrifice.  That’s what makes America great.”
The legislation would designate the facility on Front Street as the Lance Corporal Joshua C. Taylor Memorial Post Office Building.
