ReStore Marietta hosts Hidden Places, Secret Spaces

ReStore Marietta is hosting a new event tomorrow, based on the popular holiday loft tours that have been happening for the past few years.
It’s called “Hidden Places, Secret Spaces.”  ReStore board member Jennifer Offenberger says people will get to see hidden and mysterious parts of several old buildings.

“There’s a place in the Pizza Place that was an old theater, Offenberger says.  "It’s a really cool area.  The Cooks Shop has a really unique backyard – a little garden.  It’s kind of a hidden space.  Sugden’s has a really interesting room that we’re going to show off.  The Lafayette is going to let us see the submarine room.  That’s pretty cool, because not many people have gotten the chance to see that.  And, of course, the rooftop at the Lafayette has a gorgeous view.”
As you take the tour, Offenberger says you’ll be in for some special treats.
“The cost is $15, explains Offenberger.  "We’ll have people at each of those locations who will be in period dress.  They’ll be giving a little talk about what’s going on.  They will tell you a little bit about that hidden space and send you on your way to the next stop.”
The event takes place from 1 to 4 pm tomorrow. Tickets will be available at the Lafayette Hotel tomorrow.  For more information, you can call ReStore Marietta at (740) 885-8194.
