A Marietta man’s deceased body was found Monday, several weeks after the death had occurred.
Police Captain Jeff Waite tells WMOA News they received a call just after 8 a.m. Monday morning, about a possible dead body at 101 Muskingum Drive.
At that residence, police found 70-year-old Murray Colyer lying on the living room floor, apparently dead for the past four to six weeks. Colyer’s wife, 59-year-old Paula, was present at the residence and taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for mental evaluation.
Waite says there were no obvious signs of foul play on Colyer’s body; however it was transported to Montgomery County for an official autopsy.
Marietta Police are still investigating, and say charges are possible, pending the autopsy results.
