Marietta City Council is seeking the public's input concerning possible changes to how the city deals with abandoned homes, buildings and vehicles. Current regulations lack clear enforcement mechanisms, which have long hindered code officials and inspectors.
Council is considering adopting an updated International Property Management Code in order to enhance enforcement tools, particularly to make demolition of abandoned structures more timely.
The first public meeting on this topic has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 8, at 4:00 p.m. in the second floor conference room at 304 Putnam Street. The public is encouraged to attend.
