According to Williamstown Police, the two crashes happened around the same time in separate lanes, but it's currently unknown if they were related.
One crash involved a 35-year-old Marietta woman in a Saturn who rear-ended a Mazda driven by a 22-year-old Parkersburg woman, in the northbound lane.
A four-year-old child passenger from the Saturn and the Mazda driver were both transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
The Marietta woman was cited for failure to maintain and told police a distraction inside her car caused her to look away for a moment, resulting in the crash.
The other crash involved three vehicles in the southbound lane. Williamstown Police say information on that crash is currently unavailable.
