This morning WMOA News was alerted to a brief but urgent message from staffers and volunteers at the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley regarding a situation at the animal shelter. The message reads as follows…

WE ARE FULL. NEED ADOPTERS NOW OR SAD CHOICES WILL HAVE TO BE MADE. EVERY SINGLE RUN IS FULL AND DOGS ARE IN FLOOR CAGES ALSO. PLEASE ADOPT, RESCUE, OR FOSTER TODAY. THIS IS SERIOUS, FOLKS. NO ROOM AT ALL.

If you can help today by adopting, rescuing or fostering a dog, go to the shelter, which opens at noon today. (Hours are 12:00-5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10:00 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.)

For more information, call 740-373-5959 or visit hsov.org.

The shelter is located at 90 Mount Tom Road in Marietta Township. From I-77 or downtown Marietta follow Pike Street (SR 7 North) just past Walmart; turn left on County House Lane; go one mile and turn right on Mount Tom Road.
