Two men were arrested by Marietta Police early Sunday morning after they were allegedly caught trying to steal a piece of metal worth $10,000 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility on Post Street.
Alex Handschumacher, 34, of 10 Browns Road, Reno, and Michael Hollingsworth, 33, of 2255 Blue Knob Road in Warren Township were charged with felony theft and trespassing. Police say the men were caught in the act by a Corps of Engineers night watchman who called 9-1-1.
The Corps repair and fabrication facility is located above the east bank of the Muskingum River near the confluence with the Ohio.
