The supreme law of the land is being celebrated with a Constitution Day event in Marietta this Monday.
According to Friends of the Museum’s Jean Yost, the document’s 225th anniversary program will feature Marietta College Assistant History Professor Dr. Andrew Wehrman. “He has probably the greatest new information and he’s writing a book currently on the popular politics in the American Revolution,” says Yost.
He adds that Monday’s event will reflect and inform on the great document.
“The Constitution sets out probably the most important document the country has to direct us toward our future,” says Yost. “Dr. Wehrman will give great insight on where this came from and what events led up to the writing – just a great speaker.”
The program will be held this Monday, September 17, starting at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church at 318 Front Street. The public is invited.
