For the third
time this year,
Marietta College has been recognized as one of the nation’s top
colleges. In its annual survey,
U.S. News & World Report selected Marietta
College as one of the Best Colleges in the Midwest.
In the 2013
edition, Marietta is tied with Augustana College in South
Dakota at number three among colleges and universities in the Midwest. Taylor
University of Indiana leads the rankings.
US News
has ranked Marietta among the top institutions in the Midwest for more than
twenty years.
Three areas in
which Marietta College was found to excel are: Percent of classes under 20 students; percent
of faculty who are full time; and peer assessment. And the college’s freshmen retention
rate has been holding steady at an impressive 76 percent.
This summer,
Forbes.com, Washington Monthly and Princeton Review each ranked Marietta
College highly.
