The Washington County Career Center’s Adult Technical Training program is throwing a Graduation Celebration this Thursday.
WMOA News spoke with the Career Center’s Lori Smith, who said the celebration is to congratulate all Ohio and West Virginia 2012 graduates. “We’re going to do a cook-out and have door prizes and music, as well as doing tour of the school and its programs.”
She discusses some of their most popular programs.
“As we’ve done high school tours over the past year and taken seniors through the school, we’ve seen a lot of interest in the medical programs,” says Smith. “We also are offering courses involved in the oil fields, which is such an up-and-coming job employment area, so we’re seeing students wanting to see what’s available to them.”
We asked Smith how technical training programs help those entering the workforce. “First is the cost – you leave school with no debt. They’re also fast, with most of the programs taking less than twelve months to complete; and the career opportunities – you graduate with immediate marketable skills.”
The Graduation Celebration is this Thursday, June 14th at the Career Center, 21740 State Route 676. Those who RSVP by tomorrow will be entered to win a 50-dollar gas card. To RSVP, call 373.6283.
