UPDATE: Rivers Crest Below Flood Stage

UPDATE: Both of Washington County's rivers crested below flood stage over the weekend; the Ohio River comfortably so.
 
The Ohio at Marietta crested at 28.5 feet on Saturday and is falling today. Flood stage is 35 feet.
 
The Muskingum River at McConnelsville crested at 10.2 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. The Muskingum was at 9.5 feet this morning and should fall slowly in coming days.
 
The National Weather Service is not expecting significant rainfall in either watershed for at least a week.

As of late Saturday morning, the National Weather Service was predicting that the Ohio River at Marietta will crest at 28.2 feet on Sunday. Flood stage is 35 feet.
 
The Muskingum River at McConnelsville has crested at 10.2 feet (flood stage is 11 feet) and it's expected to remain between 10 and 10.5 feet the next several days, under a controlled discharge from the Muskingum Watershed reservoir system.
