Sally Hille, Guinness Book of World records Oldest DJ Dies

wmoa is sad to report the passing of sally Hille who passed away on Thursday afternoon. 
Sally Hille was the first female radio broadcaster in the Mid-Ohio valley working for radio station WMOA beginning in 1966.
in addition to announcing the weather (from a home studio set up in her bathroom) and recording commercials, she hosted several prgrams. Sally's radio interviews included many famous guests, such as Hugh Downs, Rock Hudson, Gene Kelly and Clorris Leachman.
in a letter from the honorable Gordon Smith president of the National Association of broadcasters dates March,6 2015, Smith wrote, 
"As you approach your 95th birthday you are a true inspriration to others, your incredible talent for connecting with audiences has spanned generations, your persistence and dedication has made you a trailblazer for many succesful women in radio today.
WMOA is blessed to have someone of your caliber still entertaining and educating listeners from behind the microphone."
 
There is a Sally Hille collection in the special manuscripts section of Marietta College Library.
This collection contains audio recordings of her work during the 1960s and 1970s. Also her recent podcast of News
