Morgan County motorcycle crash claims life

MORGAN COUNTY, Ohio (August 23, 2016) - The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened in Morgan County over the weekend. The crash occurred at approximately 4:17 p.m. Saturday on Ohio State Route 60 in Morgan County.
Myron E. Goins, age 72 of Zanesville, was reportedly traveling northbound on a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway.
Goins was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Malta and McConnelsville Fire Departments, also responded to the crash.
